Modern slavery statement
This statement sets out the steps THE SPORTS PARTNER takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chain.
Our commitment
THE SPORTS PARTNER is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in everything we do. We take a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chain. This statement is made under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and covers the financial year to date.
Our business
THE SPORTS PARTNER is a global sports consultancy. We work across bidding, sponsorship, media, events, data, governance and leadership search for clubs, federations, brands, event organisers, athletes and cities. We work with a small number of professional staff and specialist advisers.
Our supply chain
Our supply chain is concentrated in professional services, information technology, office services and, for some client work, event delivery suppliers such as venues, production and logistics providers. Because our work is advisory and professional, our direct supply chain is relatively small and lower risk than sectors that rely on large labour forces.
Our policies
Our approach is supported by a code of conduct that sets out the standards we expect of our people and our suppliers, an anti slavery and human trafficking policy, and a whistleblowing channel that allows concerns to be raised in confidence. These policies are reviewed regularly and are made available to staff.
Due diligence
We assess new suppliers before we work with them, with a focus on those involved in event delivery where labour risk can be higher. Our due diligence includes checking that a supplier has appropriate policies in place, asking for confirmation of compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, and building anti slavery terms into our supplier agreements where appropriate.
Risk assessment
We consider our overall exposure to modern slavery to be low, given the professional nature of our business. The areas we watch most closely are event delivery, where supply chains can be longer and more labour intensive, and any work in regions where the risk of labour exploitation is known to be higher.
Training and awareness
We make our staff aware of the signs of modern slavery and of how to raise a concern. Those involved in procurement and event delivery receive specific guidance on supplier due diligence and on the expectations we set for our suppliers.
Measuring effectiveness
We review this statement each year and assess whether our policies and due diligence remain effective. We track the number of suppliers assessed, any concerns raised through our whistleblowing channel, and the actions taken in response. No instance of modern slavery has been identified in our business or supply chain to date, and we will report here if that position changes.
Approval
This statement is approved by the leadership of THE SPORTS PARTNER and is reviewed and republished each financial year.
