Sports consultancy
Sports consultancy for the business of sport
Advisory work for the organisations that run sport, built on evidence and method rather than visibility and noise.
The discipline
A plain explanation of what sports consultancy is and how we practise it.
What sports consultancy is
Sports consultancy is advisory work for the organisations that run sport. It sits between the parties that have to agree: clubs and federations, brands and sponsors, broadcasters and media, event organisers, athletes and the cities that host events. The job is to help those parties make better decisions about bidding, sponsorship, media, events, data, governance and leadership, and to do it against evidence rather than opinion.
How we approach it
We work on the substance, not the show. A sponsorship valued against the wrong benchmark will underperform whether the activation is good or not. A bid built on a strong narrative but a weak financial model will lose to a bid that is boring and correct. We start from the evidence and work back to the decision, which is why most of our engagements begin with a client asking for one thing and end with us delivering another. That is the result of asking the questions that should have been asked at the start.
Where it applies
Our work covers host bidding and candidatures, sponsorship valuation and activation, media rights and broadcast strategy, event organisation and delivery, marketing and communication, governance and sustainability, data and analytics, and leadership search. Each service line can be commissioned on its own. Most engagements draw on several, because the problems our clients bring rarely sit inside one discipline.
Who it is for
We work with clubs and federations, brands and sponsors, event organisers, athletes and technical teams, and cities and candidatures. Each audience has a different relationship with the sport and a different reason to bring in outside help. The common thread is a decision to make in the business of sport, and a preference for getting it right over looking good while getting it wrong.

We set the positioning and run the channels that carry it to the people who matter.
Sponsorship
We work on sponsorship strategy, valuation, negotiation and activation, on both sides of the agreement.
Event organisation and promotion
We run the operational disciplines that deliver an event and fill the seats and screens around it.
